Kristen H. Ruis, LCSW
“The best part of the work I do is sharing a portion of a person’s journey with them. It is a privilege to be a part of their healing and growing.”
Kristen first joined Franco Psychological Associates in April, 2006, and was with them until a life-change required her to leave in the fall of 2012. Missing working with clients in an outpatient setting, she was able to return to Franco Psychological part-time in July of 2020.
Kristen has been working as a therapist since 1994. Some of her past experience has been working in Family Preservation, Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services, Employee Assistance Program, and as a Behavioral Specialist in a health clinic. Her interests and expertise lie in working with teens and adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar, grief and loss, relationship issues and trauma.
She feels that building a positive and safe working relationship with a client is crucial. It is in this space that people can grow the courage to face their struggles, find the hope that they can change, and develop the tools needed to do so.
Her interests include being outdoors (hiking, biking or bird watching), music, movies/theater, traveling, and being with her family.
